PDFDeal works differently: your file is read into browser memory using the JavaScript File API and processed by pdf-lib running locally in your browser tab. No file bytes travel over the network. The downloaded result is generated in the same browser session, so sensitive documents such as contracts or medical records never touch an external server.

There is no server-side file size limit because files are not uploaded. The practical limit is your device's available memory. Most modern devices handle PDFs up to several hundred megabytes without issue. Very large files, such as high-resolution scanned documents over 500 MB, may be slow to process depending on your device's RAM and CPU. For extremely large files, the desktop app is recommended as it can use more system resources than a browser tab.
